Airtel Ghana is continuing with the roll out of customer-driven offers with the announcement of an international bonanza nicknamed ‘Global-Local’, a special offer that gives customers reduced rates to a number of destinations in North America, Asia and the United Kingdom.
In a release, Airtel Ghana’s Head of Corporate Communications and External Affairs, Donald Gwira explained that “Airtel customers are now able to call the USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Hong Kong and UK (fixed lines) for 10Gp per minute only whiles those calling Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Bangladesh and Cyprus do so at 12Gp per minute”. Mr. Gwira said the ‘Global-Local’ international bonanza is one of the many offers Airtel has lined up to ensure their customers keep enjoying the benefits of being on the network. “We have customers who keep making calls to these destinations; they spend several minutes daily and weekly on these routes so we decided to make it possible for them to make these calls to global locations whiles paying very competitive rates”, Mr. Gwira said.
Airtel Ghana has over the years revamped some of its offers and introduced new ones to satisfy the varying needs of its customers. For instance Airtel’s 5X ‘Obolobo’ offer has been revamped to include discounts in data use and calls from Airtel to other networks. The ‘Global-Local’ bonanza which does not require any subscriptions runs every day and is activated once customers make calls to the advertised destinations.
